4–5 December 2026 | Budapest, Hungary
About the Summit
The ASCEND Orthognathic Summit invites a small group of experienced oral and maxillofacial surgeons from Europe and the Gulf region to Budapest for two days of hands-on work, case discussion and open exchange on how each of us approaches orthognathic surgery. Hosted and led by Dr. Krisztián Nagy, it is the founding gathering of ASCEND’s orthognathic division.
Orthognathic practice has evolved along different lines in different regions, shaped by patient populations, aesthetic expectations and access to planning technology. The Summit puts those approaches side by side, at the planning screen, at the cadaver table and over dinner.

European perspectives
Planning workflows, fixation concepts and long-term outcomes from academic and private centres across Europe.
Gulf perspectives
Patient expectations, case mix and practice patterns from surgeons working across the GCC region.
What the Summit is built on
How we each do it
Planning workflows, osteotomy design and fixation choices differ from centre to centre. The sessions are built around comparing them openly, with Dr. Nagy leading the discussion and every participant bringing their own approach to the table.
Your cases, our discussion
Participants are welcome to bring their own cases, whether a planning challenge, an unusual anatomy or a complication, and think them through with the group. There is no need to submit them in advance.
Hands-on work with TITAMED
Both cadaver lab sessions are performed with the TITAMED Smart Fixation System under the guidance of Dr. Nagy, who works with the system extensively, with time to get to know its plates, screws and instrumentation properly.
A network that lasts
A small group, shared work at the table and a networking dinner make room for the kind of professional relationships that rarely form at large congresses.
Programme
Day 1 · 4 December
Planning philosophies across regions
CBCT-based 3D workflows, virtual treatment planning and splint strategies as practised in European and Gulf centres, presented and discussed by participants.
Cadaver lab I: maxillary and mandibular osteotomies
Fixation with the TITAMED Smart Fixation System.
Networking dinner
Day 2 · 5 December
Case forum: Europe and the Gulf
Participants’ own cases and complications, discussed with the group.
Cadaver lab II: genioplasty, malar osteotomy and selected techniques
ASCEND roundtable
Shaping the future of the orthognathic division.
Bring a member of your team
Orthognathic surgery is teamwork, and so is this Summit. Each surgeon is welcome to bring one member of their own team, whether a scrub nurse, a surgical assistant or a resident or fellow they are training.
Your team member works with you at the cadaver table throughout both lab sessions and takes part in the full programme, including lunches, the networking dinner and a certificate of participation.
Fixation partner: TITAMED

Both cadaver lab sessions are performed with the TITAMED Smart Fixation System, giving participants the opportunity to work with its plates, screws and instrumentation across the full range of osteotomies and to assess the system in realistic surgical conditions.
Founding members of ASCEND
ASCEND is an international surgical community with European roots, built on the idea that surgeons grow fastest when they learn from each other across borders and specialties. Participants of the first Orthognathic Summit become founding members of its orthognathic division.
- Founding Member certificateRecognising your part in establishing the division, alongside the certificate of participation.
- A place among the foundersFounding members are listed on the ASCEND website.
- Exclusive early accessPriority registration for future ASCEND and LNP Academy programmes, before places open to the public.
- A voice in what comes nextFrom the topics of future Summits to the direction of the division, starting with the roundtable on Day 2.
Beyond the Summit
ASCEND is designed to grow with its members. Joint research, multicentre projects, teaching roles and future collaborations are open to those who want to take them forward, and the founding group will be the first to be invited when such opportunities arise.
